Wrapping Up The 2025 Season

Another successful summer!

We had the children's end of season banquet where sailing trophies were awarded and our 75th anniversary party was a big sucess!

While the season is over for the counsors and children who have gone back to school or college, work is still  being done to close up the boat shop and  clean and bring in the moorings, buoys, etc.

At Tuesday's low tide,  the air is brisk and the day is beautiful!

These pictures show that beauty and the behind the scenes work done by Susan and Dan.

Dressed in their bathing suits and long sleeves to keep warm at pre 8am, they head down the beach at low tide with their bucket of tools to clean the ropes and undo the shackles.   After about 2 hours of bending over doing this  work,  the moorings are dragged up to the 2nd floor and placed in a bucket to be soaked and cleaned on another day!

Finally after all this work, they sit and have a cup of coffee where the conversation goes to a list of what,s left to do!    This dynamic duo have been working together for over 35 years and are a well oiled machine!  Their dedication is truly a blessing to the WERCCS!

Finally, a 3rd coat of varnish is put on the chair and they both leave to tend to their own homes!

Dan and Susan we can never thank you enough for your dedication and all you do for the children and this wonderful program!
